THE Syndicat

des travailleuses et travailleurs

de Radio-Canada

By being unionized, members can file grievances when their rights are not respected. The union takes care of their representation and defense. In some cases, collective grievances can also be filed.

In the event of a workplace accident, a member’s file is handled by the union, and they can be represented by the CSN’s accident department, if they wish. The union conducts regular inspections to prevent accidents in the workplace.

The union frequently holds meetings with the employer regarding various issues that are brought to its attention. For example: work schedules, seniority or job descriptions. These may be collective or individual problems. The union’s goal is to find a solution that benefits the members.

Because the STTRC represents nearly 2,900 artisans, we can demand improvements in our working conditions. The involvement and solidarity of the members help the union achieve the objectives that we set collectively.

The STTRC believes in the mission and mandate of Radio-Canada. That is why the union wants stable and recurring funding to be guaranteed for the Crown Corporation. The STTRC can intervene through briefs or, in collaboration with the FNCC and the CSN, call on the government.
